On the outside looking in......

is where John and Craig were the past 2 days!

Finishing up siding and working on the side entrance.   Siding is DONE!  HORRAY!!!   We finally have a finished front of the house!   And hopefully after tomorrow we will have steps going into our house from the back and side!  Everything is almost done....and it feels so good!

While they were outside working...we had the painters here this week finishing everything up and I am happy to report....PAINTING IS DONE until the Spring when they will finish the exterior of the windows, the front door and a few other things!  We may also have them do the rest of the house!  Living Room, Dining Room, and the Girl's Bedrooms are all we have left to paint, and they did such an amazing job I'd love to have them come back and finish!

Wednesday the plumbers came (FINALLY) to begin the heat.  They got done with the toe kicks and the baseboards, and finally got around to fixing an issue we had a few months ago in our existing bathroom.   Bob came to check on things and he told me we'd be in our bedroom by the weekend...that the boiler would be here Thursday or first thing Friday and they'd be back to finish it in time for the weekend!    One thing I've learned in this process is NOT to take any "timeline" seriously.   Good thing I wasn't holding my breath....Thursday came and went....first thing Friday came and went.....I finally gave in and called only to get the answer I already knew........ long story short.....Boiler is not in, we will be there Monday to do your heat.  BUT we can come and fix the water line to the fridge that you've been waiting for since before Christmas.  This came after I explained all my frustrations to the secretary and raised my voice a little bit!  So that got done...YAY!  And then they headed upstairs to fix something on the master shower...only to come downstairs and say they didn't know how.....but that a coworker would be here in 20 minutes to fix that!  Said co-worker (who Joe and I have been nothing but pleased with) showed up at 6:15 on a Friday night, in a snowstorm to fix the temperature in the master shower, so we could use it!  THANK YOU, LIAM!!!!  So we have ice and a fixed master shower!  Just waiting on the heat...b/c it's COOOOOLD up there and the shower isn't enjoyable when you step into a freezing bathroom!  TRUST ME...I tried it last night!  HA HA!

So Monday we should have heat.....but I'll believe it when I see a boiler coming down the driveway and thru my back door.   And I'm not sure what John and Craig will be doing.....more outside work, finishing up inside?  They were off Friday, b/c we got some snow!

We're Movin (It) On Up.......

Our furniture got delievered last week and our dresser wouldn't fit up the stairs.  We knew this was probably going to happen, which is why we had a balcony and french doors added to the addition.  But the question was HOW were we going to get it up there?  There were a bunch of ideas floating around, but then we decided on using one of my Dad's genie lifts....putting the piece on it, and lifting it that way!  Sounds easy.....right?   We got my Dad, one of his co-workers, my father in law and Joe all over here to put the plan into place!   Everything went very smoothly and up the dresser went.......there was a little trouble getting it up and over the balcony b/c the lift didn't bring it up high enough.  But they managed to get it up and over and now it's where it belongs....IN OUR BEDROOM!!!!!   The whole process took about 10 minutes!  So now we know we can, if we have to, get furniture into our bedroom that way!  Still can't sleep in there yet......STILL no heat! 

Tomorrow John will be working on the stairs in the back, and I assume the rest of the siding in the front.
