What have we been up to???
WE HAVE HEAT!!!!! HA HA HA! We finally got it when we were supposed to, it did take 2.5 days, but we got it! And WOW...what a difference! We are able to sleep in our room, take showers in luxury and just enjoy everything in the warmth! Not sure if I shared any of these......sorry if I did!
Shower doors are in! And they look great!
Front door is in!
Outside is finished! Siding.....railings....decks......LOOKING AMAZING!

A Change of Color.....
in the master bathroom!
We originally had a light blue, prior to the tile being done and the vanity in.....once those happened the color was HORRIBLE! Very, very bad! So we decided to go more "safe" and neutral and boy, am I glad we did! It looks 100% times better...I think! What do you think?
Link Before
ANNNNNNDDDDD.......
After (beautiful brown)
And for fun.......the inside of the shower (I was sitting on the bench). The thing to the right is the handheld which still needs to be connected to a bar.

Master Bathroom and more!
John and Craig have been busy with the master bathroom this week....among other things.
They did all the tile and then the vanity came today also! I LOVE IT!!! It's coming along beautifully and really all that's left is the plumbing....well we need some sort of mirror and light fixture also. But I am so happy with how everything looks!
We have decided to change the wall color....but I am sleeping on it, b/c I can't decide! I am thinking a tan or the same blue we have in our bedroom. All I know is that the blue that we have in there doesn't look very good AT ALL now that it's tiled and the vanity is in! The painters are coming tomorrow to paint both bathrooms so I really have to decide....SOON!
Also the wainscoting is finished in the first floor bathroom and it looks FABULOUS! It is going to be painted tomorrow also......and I know it will look amazing!
The vanity is in! It's NOT black....the lighting is so bad in here right now that it looks black. It's a very dark brown!
Soooo...again all that needs to be done is plumbing...and a mirror and light fixture!
But everything is coming along and it's going pretty quickly now!
Tomorrow we have final paint in the bathrooms...while John and Craig finish up some last minute inside stuff......stairs going to the basement, some final trim, interior door knob/pulls and more!
Monday we should have the plumber here installing all the sink plumbing, toilets and hopefully baseboard heat.
And as we quickly approach Christmas we are having the floors finished on the 17th and 18th.....followed by our bedroom furniture delivered the 20th AND our stove, fridge and dishwasher....then on the 21st we have our mattress coming......and I am getting more and more excited!!!!!

Tile! Tile! Tile!
Today was the first bathroom tile day! They spent the whole day on the first floor bathroom tile!
This morning we decided to go with a "brick road" pattern on the shower walls....and after seeing it I think it's perfect!
Just to remind everyone...we went with a rectangle ceramic tile in a very slight off white. Originally we were going to do the whole bathroom in tile...all the walls, the whole way around, partially up. But after talking about the cost, we decided to go with tile in just the shower...and then do wainscoting on the other walls.
Within the white tile there will be a strip of green glass mosaics as a boarder. Brand is SICIS.
And on the floor is a chocolate brown ceramic tile in a 12x12. It's by LAFAENZA.
And here is the almost finished tile! The only thing we need is the grout and the green glass mosaics.
I am really happy with how it turned out and can't wait to see it finished and all the plumbing fixtures in it!
Tomorrow is the master bathroom!
We also finished grouting and sealing the mudroom slate floor and again I am so happy with how it turned out. The color we went with was "Beach Sand" and we used THIS sealer on it! After it was installed, we waited 2 days, then with a roller Joe applied it. We did 2 coats over the weekend. On Monday, Craig grouted, then last night Joe put the final coat on it. Now it's ready to be used!
Everything is coming together!!!!!!

Sunday Funday!
Today Joe and I did a little shopping! First we headed to Bed Bath and Beyond to look for closet organizing stuff...and of course didn't find anything we liked. Then we looked for curtains, but didn't really see anything we liked either! So as we were leaving we stumbled upon the bathroom ensembles. And I found one that was perfect for the girls bathroom. I knew I wanted to do a "beachy theme" and had seen some on Pottery Barn Kid's website as well as other places.....but then I found one today that I liked even better! So we got everything for it!
The accessories: Beach Bum Bath Ensemble by Saturday Knight Limited
The Shower Curtain:
And the rug:
**ALL PHOTOS FROM bedbathandbeyond.com***
I am thinking of doing a tan color on the walls and a red trim to match the red in the beach umbrella! We are hoping to get that room painted over Thanksgiving weekend (this weekend)!
Next we headed to Capital Lighting to get some interior lights. They have so many to choose from, it's very difficult. But we found a few that we really liked. We picked a chandelier for the kitchen (above the table) and 2 pendents for above the island. We aren't 100% sure about the pendents yet, because they are stained glass and we aren't sure how they will look once we get them into the kitchen. BUT we saw a few others we liked, and after looking around on their website I have a few back-ups.
Here is the chandelier: the quality isn't very good.
And the pendents....
again...bad picture quality, but it has green and burgundy in it.
And my 2nd runner up
***all photos from 1800lighting.com
And that concluded our shopping! It doesn't sound like we did a lot...but we did!
Joe also ripped out all the staples in the playroom floor so we can get moving on that room and give ourselves some much needed space. With the holidays coming we'd like to be able to get a Christmas tree eventually, and the only way to do that is to get rid of the "toy corner" in our living room. This week over next we will be in touch with the painter to see if he can put the 2nd coat on the room and paint the trim and windows. Once that's done....the room will be ready for playing!
I have no idea what's in store for us tomorrow....maybe more trim? Maybe tile? Maybe cabinet molding? I do know that our granite gets installed on Tuesday!!!! Exciting!

COLOR! COLOR! COLOR!
I wanted to create one more entry before I went to bed....
We had the painter here while John was away...he started out staining the side door. We went with Wild Berry from Sherwin Williams.

A few days later.......the painting began!!!!
I was so nervous to see the actual colors we chose on the wall! And went back and forth so many times....but we finally decided on the painting began!
Day 1 -- Ceilings and Closets were painted white!
Day 2 -- All the walls were primed with color.....and everything turned out BEAUTIFUL! I am so happy with what we decided on!!!!
Here is the kitchen! Sherwin Williams **ARTICHOKE**
The Mudroom and Butler's Pantry are **CLARY SAGE**
First Floor Bathroom **SANDS OF TIME**
Hallways (Upstairs and Down) **KILIM BEIGE**
Master Bedroom **MEDITATIVE**
Master Bath **SLEEPY BLUE**
Master Closet **MOUNTAIN AIR**
Playroom **DANCING GREEN**
And that's what we've done so far! 1st coat is up and one more is needed! I am so happy with it all!
We also had the electrician here and they put the exhaust fans in the bathrooms, and did a bunch of other stuff! And the gutter guys came and did all the gutters!
So even though John was away....the work didn't stop!

Inspection Day!
"A Gang Bang Inspection" is what John called it.....and it was! I was nervous b/c we had 3 inspections to get thru today.
First up was the electrical inspection. The inspector came early this morning..walked around and we PASSED!!!!!!
Next up was the building inspector.....he walked around and we PASSED!!!!!
And finally was the plumbing inspector and guess what...........WE PASSED! 3 for 3!!!! Happiness all around! :)
While the inspections were happening we had a lot going on. Mostly siding and window wrapping! It's all coming together! And I LOVE it! Love the color, love the way the windows look...and I am so happy with everything!
We also had the plumbers come and start working on placement of the new baseboard heat and where we want our shower fixtures.

Sunday Funday
As promised....all of our bathroom fixtures!
Let's start with the master bath! This is the vanity, BUT it's a double vanity....so a set of drawers on either side (B6 on the list below the picture). In maple, nor cherry...and a more mocha color than cherry. The counter will be a slight off white. Vanity is by NY Vanity...and it's in style Arta.
http://www.zeekskitchens.com/pdfs/arta.pdf
And the faucet is Moen, Kingsley in a brushed nickle.
The shower will have semi-framless doors and 2 shower heads. A handheld and then a stationary. We were originally going with a rain head...BUT b/c the shower has such nice, high ceilings..we opted to keep those and do away with the rain head. We are doing the body sprayers though...3 of them! All in brushed nickle!
Toto Toilets in a slight off white too.
The new First Floor Bath will have this vanity..again by NY Vanity. In the Linio collection. Same color and doors as seen on the left. Linen colored sink and counter.
Similar faucet, again by Moen...only it's one piece and it's in chrome.
Same toilet by Toto...
This gets a chrome shower head and a regular glass door. Oh and the shower pan is neo-angle. (Fancy term for a corner shower if I am even saying it right!).
And that's that for the bathroom fixtures! Everything is starting to come together!!!!!
